Scholarship and Bursary Award Opportunities for Ethiopian-Canadian students in the National Capital Region (NCR) – 2022

Are you someone of an Ethiopian-descent studying in the NCR and seeking financial support to complete your post-secondary/graduate studies? If so, you may be qualified to receive some financial assistance from PAECO. PAECO, an independent, non-political and non-profit organization which was established by committed professionals in Canada, has mobilized resources to provide financial assistance to achieving individuals of Ethiopian descent.

Eligibility

In order to be considered for the bursary/scholarship program, applicants generally have to meet the following two or three (depending on the type of application) general requirements.

Fulltime Status

Be a full time student at, or admitted to a recognized educational institution in the NCR.

[Acceptance or registration in a graduate or undergraduate program of any discipline in a post- secondary institution in the National Capital Region is required]

Ethiopian Decent

Be of Ethiopian descent (either the applicant, one of his/her parents or grandparents was born in Ethiopia) and [ No substantiating document required, but the selection committee reserves the right to check, when in doubt]

Financial Need

For the bursary awards only: have a demonstrated financial need

[Demonstrate your financial need by providing a copy of your income tax return for 2015, or a letter from a community organization, ascertaining your financial need]

Applications

For your application please complete the online application form including a cover letter (max. 1page) describing how you meet the above selection criteria on the basis of your contribution to voluntarism. Please also indicate in the letter which award you would like to be considered for.

Scanned copies of all documents supporting your eligibility and a copy of your most recent academic transcript need to be submitted to scholarships@paeco.ca
